Betsy Mandel-Carley, LCSW
Betsy Mandel-Carley, LCSWBetsy Mandel-Carley is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She has been practicing full time since 1968 when she graduated from the University of Chicago with a Master Degree in Social Work.

Since that time, Betsy has been interested in the impact of family of origin dynamics, decisions persons make in and out of awareness, social change, and ultimately how these effect the ways we connect and couple. Practicing during these decades has been fascinating, and results in Betsy having a grounded wide range of experience from which to help individuals and couples make decisions and problem solve. She believes Twenty First Century relationships are paradoxical; at one level, our basic needs for connection are similar to our great grandparents, and yet given the gender options, and the attempt to balance so many more demands, the conflicts and choices are very different.

Betsy has severed on several boards and has been actively involved professionally. She was on the State Licensing Board for Social Workers from (1990-1996) and served as Chairperson (1994-1996).

Betsy sees individual and couples in her east Memphis office, Monday through Thursday, beginning at 700 a.m. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 901-683-1422.
